Tardigrades in Space!

Would you believe something know as a water bear or moss piglet might be a lead on life on and/or from another planet? Scientists take little eight legged segmented animals into space, put them out in the vacuum of space (radiation and all), and when they bring them home they survive and still are able to reproduce?

I know space exploration and the relatively recent developments with the space program have been depressing, but science must go on!
